About Curtin University

Curtin University, the first technological university in Australia, was established in 1966 and is a cutting-edge, international university. It is affiliated with Open Universities Australia, the Australian Technology Network, and the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning. The Western Australian Institute of Technology was the previous name of the university. It was given university status by the Western Australian Parliament in 1986. Curtin is a well-known study location that is renowned all over the world for its connections with business, variety of cutting-edge courses, and superior research. In the 2020 Good Universities Guide, Curtin received five-star rankings across five categories. It was recognised among the best institutions in Australia for a variety of factors, including faculty credentials, high standards of instruction, and learning resources. According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2019, Curtin is among the top 1% of universities worldwide.

Over 90 universities are known to collaborate with Curtin. The university has been actively involved in various academic and practical research theories as an Australian Technology Network member. Resources & Energy, Information & Communication, Ageing & Well-Being, Health, and the Changing Environment are some of the primary research areas. Only Curtin University in Western Australia provides a Ph.D. winner for the AINSE gold award. It is regarded as the highest honour for outstanding PhD-level research in Australia and New Zealand.

Approximately 50,000 students attend the university. Both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes are available. A variety of subjects are divided up into four divisions in the university's academic structure: the faculties of health sciences, humanities, business & law, and science & engineering. Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Nursing, Psychology, Public Health, Media, Design, Creative Arts, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Life Sciences are just a few of the many topics covered. Curtin places an emphasis on providing students with useful information. There are five primary faculties and around 95 specialty centres at Curtin.

The institution has four more campuses in Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, and Mauritius in addition to its flagship campus in Australia. Cafes, restaurants, retail stores, and chemist shops are conveniently located near the main campus. Thousands of books, periodicals, academic papers, and novels can be found in the library. The John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library collection is also part of it. The campus offers a tranquil study atmosphere overall.

Among the noteworthy graduates of Curtin are Judy Davis, Dean Israelite, Natalia Cooper, Tim Winton, Sheila McHale, Jon Doust, a well-known comedian, Sheila McHale, a former cabinet minister of Western Australia, and Dean Israelite (Emmy Award Winner).
