This is a four-year program offered in collaboration with the University of Ottawa. Students have the opportunity to experience classroom laboratory and clinical learning in a wide variety of settings. The program prepares graduates to take on the role of Registered Nurses, offering quality care within the healthcare system. Key program outcomes include developing critical thinking and communication skills, as students become professional nurses dedicated to lifelong learning and using information to solve problems as part of healthcare teams. Students may select the University of Ottawa, Algonquin (Ottawa) or Algonquin (Pembroke) site for their studies. Students studying at Algonquin Ottawa take some of their courses in 1st year at the Ottawa University site. Students studying at Algonquin Pembroke take all of their courses in Pembroke. Upon completion, all students graduate with a BScN from the University of Ottawa. Furthermore, graduates of the program are prepared to pursue graduate studies (Masters, Nurse Practitioner).

Acting within the context of an inter-professional team, BScN graduates are in high demand and may work in hospitals, community health agencies, long-term care facilities and a variety of other settings across Canada and around the world.
