In our operations management course, you'll combine hands-on industrial training with your academic studies, preparing you for management and leadership positions in the manufacturing industry. Refining your people skills is a major focus of the program. You'll also learn how to interpret product design drawings, develop and implement a production process, and apply manufacturing and quality control standards as a certified quality engineer. And, in addition to technical skills, you'll learn business skills such as accounting, production cost estimating, statistical analysis, operations and resource management and customer service in your pursuit of your operations management certification.

After graduation:

When you graduate from our operations management course, career opportunities include operations manager, plant supervisor, tool designer, quality engineer and more. You'll even be eligible for direct transfer into several bachelor's degree programs at Athabasca University.

The demand for graduates is very high. Although employment is primarily in the manufacturing industries in such management functions as industrial engineering, plant layout, production planning and control, etc., the fundamentals of the program equip a graduate to function in many other areas.
