Program description
Oil and Gas Production Accounting teaches the basics of petroleum production accounting as it relates to the petroleum industry. Oil and gas production accountants are responsible for compiling, managing and reporting financial and production data for the oil and gas industry.
Production accountants are specialists in their field and must have a sound knowledge of petroleum products in addition to an understanding of the industry's financial practices and government regulations. This program was developed and certified by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA).
This program is offered full-time on the SAIT campus via an intensive, full-time 35-week program accredited by Alberta Advanced Education.
Note: This program is eligible for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.

- Students who have successfully completed OGPA-210 Production Accounting - Oil Patch - Introduction - Level 1 may be eligible to use this course towards the Energy Asset Management Diploma and the Petroleum Land Administration Certificate.
- Students who have successfully completed ACCT-215 Introductory Financial Accounting I or BCMP 225 Business Computers may be eligible to use these courses towards the Business Administration Diploma and the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

SAIT Admission requirements and process
Admission at SAIT Polytechnic requires additional documents from international applicants. Application requirements for various programs are given below.
Selection CriteriaSAIT Polytechnic opens the admissions in the Fall Start and continues until the Spring start. Different programs have different time periods for their admission process.
- The application fee charged is 75.00 CAD once for each program enrolment.
- Percentage required in schools and the other major requirements are different for all courses:
- A 65% record or a cumulative GPA of minimum 2.3 is required for the Bachelor’s of business administration.
- Other courses require a minimum of 50%.
- A common requirement in all the courses is the English proficiency.
- Admission into the Institute is determined on the academic records.
- Graduate employment rate in the institute is 94%
Criteria of selection are not the same for different courses and to meet up to the suitability of the program the students may need to give supplementary documentation or additional information to be submitted. This includes:-
