Establish a career as a database administrator through training in the technical and business aspects of data modeling, database architecture, backup and recovery and database security.
Program description
Industry relies on database technology to store, retrieve and present information in a customized and user-friendly format. The Database Administrator (DBA) program develops your knowledge of relational database design, system performance, backup & recovery, and database security. The program builds on your existing relevant skills of reliability, logical thinking and good attention to detail.
This intensive 40 week program, designed for learners with previous IT experience, prepares you for challenging and exciting opportunities in database administration.
You will master the technical aspects of database administration, using Oracle tools within Windows and Linux platforms. You will also learn to use and manage existing relational databases, then apply these skills in the design and implementation of new databases in accordance with user requirements.
This program is offered in conjunction with the Oracle Workforce Development Program. With additional relevant work experience and exam preparation study, you will be prepared to successfully challenge and complete the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) DBA designation. SAIT Admission requirements and process
Admission at SAIT Polytechnic requires additional documents from international applicants. Application requirements for various programs are given below.
Selection CriteriaSAIT Polytechnic opens the admissions in the Fall Start and continues until the Spring start. Different programs have different time periods for their admission process.
- The application fee charged is 75.00 CAD once for each program enrolment.
- Percentage required in schools and the other major requirements are different for all courses:
- A 65% record or a cumulative GPA of minimum 2.3 is required for the Bachelor’s of business administration.
- Other courses require a minimum of 50%.
- A common requirement in all the courses is the English proficiency.
- Admission into the Institute is determined on the academic records.
- Graduate employment rate in the institute is 94%
Criteria of selection are not the same for different courses and to meet up to the suitability of the program the students may need to give supplementary documentation or additional information to be submitted. This includes:-
