About the Program
| This three-year advanced diploma program will develop your in-depth knowledge of personal and financial planning including personal taxation, estate planning, retirement planning, insurance, investment strategies and risk management. In this program you will also have the opportunity to write various professional certifications required to excel in the financial sector. |
As a student of Business Administration - Financial Planning, you must fulfill the following academic requirements to be eligible for semester 5:
- Earn a minimum C grade in FIS 403 and EAC 594 and,
- A minimum B grade in RFC 121.
Additionally, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7 each semester to remain in the program otherwise you may be asked to withdraw or recommended to transfer to another program, such as Pre-Business or Business diploma.

Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a full-time paid position completed between two academic semesters. In programs with limited co-op opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position. To be eligible to apply for the optional co-op, students must complete all subjects from semesters 1 through 4 and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better, along with meeting the above minimum course grade requirements. |
