Our Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Health & Social Care with degree award options: Aging & Care or Disability Studies or Health & Social Care (General) is a four year programme where you will develop the necessary skills for a fulfilling career in healthcare.

The course will allow you to undertake a critical examination of the contrasting perspectives which provide insights into the varied experiences of health and social care. Placement in a healthcare environment is a key part of your training, and you will learn the skills to assimilate an understanding of the complex and diverse nature of the subject, as well as more general or specialised skills that can be widely transferable across an equally diverse range of healthcare sectors. This includes career opportunities in adult services, health awareness and promotion, care of the elderly, childcare and youth work and community development. Graduates become residential childcarers, respite carers, adult service officers, health promotion officers, as well as working with patients who have an intellectual disability. As you can see, the opportunities are diverse and wide-ranging, and whatever your area of interest this course will ensure you have the necessary skills to pursue it.
