  • Master industry-leading systems such as SAS for statistical data analysis, SQL for data manipulation and MongoDB for unstructured datasets.
  • Learn and apply statistical data modelling, data storage and data mining techniques.
  • Gain specific knowledge related to financial services, consultancy, regulation, supervision and compliance.
  • Prepare candidates for analytics jobs in financial services with competitive salaries.

On this course, you'll gain a firm handle on data analytics and its role in banking and finance. You'll access real company live data, work with Bloomberg terminals, use cutting-edge software and get excellent real-world experience. The course is designed with industry input, so you're able to hit the ground running as soon as you graduate.

Live projects

You will study real company case studies and data and work on live or emulated industry projects. You will utilise the skills and knowledge you learn on your technical and business modules to complex projects in the context of financial industries.

Networking opportunities

The teaching team make use of their research and industry connections to include real work scenarios and case studies within many of the modules.

There are many industries that make use of the skills developed on the course once you have graduated, including pharmaceuticals, finance, marketing, retail and the public sector.

Organisations such as Amazon, Facebook, UK Ministry of Defence, HSBC and GSK all make use of data management/analytics extensively to help them to better understand their customers and to make informed business decisions. IBM ranked these jobs as one of the most difficult for employers to recruit, due in part to the shortage of skilled data scientists.
