Accountancy and Mathematics BSc (Hons) at University of Dundee

Mathematics can lead to a diverse range of careers. Scientific developments are possible due to mathematical applications while mathematical models inform decisions in industry, government, and in the financial sector. 

You'll learn both pure and application-driven mathematics. By the time you finish your degree, you will be able to use mathematics to solve practical problems and apply this knowledge to accountancy.

Dundee has close links with the accountancy profession. You’ll benefit from the experience of practicing accountants and understand their contemporary challenges through their insights and guest lectures.

A number of students opt to undertake an internship with an accountancy firm during their vacation, combining their study with work experience.

You will also be able to join DUMaS (Dundee University Maths Society), an active society open to all students studying mathematics.

The Accountancy degree offers accreditation from UK, Ireland, and global professional accounting bodies. If you would like to complete your professional training this accreditation will give you the best possible start. Many graduates still choose to specialise in areas such as tax or audit, but increasingly companies are offering more general roles aimed at giving graduates experience of all areas.
