If you’re looking to set up your own business, this extended degree in business entrepreneurship and innovation is the place to start.
This extended degree in business entrepreneurship and innovation starts with a foundation year to prepare you for degree-level study. After this, you'll study the same modules offered on our three-year course. You'll cover business processes, economics for business, and innovation in competitive environments to help you kick-start a business.
We also encourage business management undergraduates to enter our business-planning competition. It's a great experience and can include a financial investment prize if you win. Graduates with credible business ideas are also supported to develop their business.
Careers and placements
Will I have a work placement?
Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university.
Previous students from the three-year course have secured placement years at HP and the University of Greenwich.
How long is my placement?
Work placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. You take this between the second and third years of study.
What are the financial arrangements?
UK placement annual salaries range between £13,000 and £18,000 pro rata. Some charity/voluntary work organisations offer travel costs and lunch expenses in lieu of a full salary.
What sort of careers do graduates pursue?
Graduates from this degree have the same opportunities as those graduating from our three-year course. They will be equipped to develop and run their own businesses as entrepreneurs.
Other career options include general management, corporate entrepreneurship, management consultancy and small-business management.
