Our children's nursing degree offers pre-registration training in this field. It will help you gain an understanding of the personal, socio-economic and cultural influences that impact on children and young people's physical health and mental wellbeing.

Careers and placements
Will I have a work placement?
We have excellent links with the National Health Service (NHS) and other care providers and will arrange your placements in both hospitals and community settings, including GP practices, with community nurses and health visitors. You will spend 50% of your time each year in these valuable work placements. It is here that you will be assessed by qualified practitioners.
What sort of careers do graduates pursue?
As a children's nurse you can go into any area where children or young people access healthcare across the acute and community sectors, and worldwide. Nurses in both hospital and community settings have opportunities to become managers, educators and clinical specialists.
