This course is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS). When you graduate, you fulfil the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and partially fulfil the education requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Scientist (CSci). This master's in computer science is designed for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in computer science and network engineering.
The course explores the networking, software development technologies and architectures involved in modern computer systems and networks. You will study the core principles that underpin computer science, as well as how to design, build and test a wide range of software and network systems to support modern network structures.
The course provides practical experience through realistic case studies. Your option modules include cyber security and forensics, data warehousing and business intelligence or user-centred web engineering and software engineering management.
Once you graduate, you will be equipped to deal with the intense demands of modern software development. You'll be able to evaluate and employ appropriate concepts and principles to build solutions of commercial, industrial or research value.
Through our short course centre, you may also have the opportunity to work towards the following professional qualifications: Microsoft Technology Associate Exams; Certified Professional Java SE Programmer; Java Certified Associate; Oracle Certified Associate (OCA).
