This Masters course builds on the knowledge, skills and experience you have already gained from an undergraduate degree in nursing and will enable you to further develop your skills of critical enquiry, using evidence in practice, and develop your confidence in undertaking research. You’ll learn how to further develop yourself as a leader, to enable change and continuous improvement in practice. Nursing is increasingly a profession where higher qualifications are essential, so a Masters qualification can help you in pursuit of higher-level management, education or clinical roles within healthcare setting both in the UK and overseas.
This will allow you to advance your professional career, making a greater contribution to people’s health and wellbeing and the quality of service users, carers and families experience.
The course mixes taught elements with independent research and self-directed study. There is flexibility to pursue personal interests in considerable depth, with guidance and inspiration from our supportive tutors.
We use a wide variety of teaching and learning methods which include lectures, seminars, case studies, presentations, group work, directed study and tutorials. Compared to an undergraduate course, you will find that this Masters requires a higher level of independent working. Assessment methods include essays, reports, case study, exams and presentations.
