OVERVIEW
Our technical MSc Civil Engineering provides you with the advanced knowledge and skills for supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects whilst minimising the impact on the natural environment. You will advance your knowledge to support your career progression within consulting and contracting organisations whilst satisfying the learning requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Civil Engineering, as a discipline, involves the design, construction, and maintenance of the built environment, including infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, and railways.
This master's satisfies the technical and managerial expectations required by civil engineering employers as our course will develop the skills needed to interface with functional users, other than engineers, giving you a more holistic view of the processes behind successfully delivering a civil engineering project.

Your dissertation is an individual research project which is based on a topic of your choosing and will be aligned to your career aspirations. These research projects are industry-relevant and may be supported (through funding) from the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CS-IC).
