California Polytechnic State University English Language Requirment

TOEFL
Obtain a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or TOEFL Home Edition score of at least 80 on the internet. The previous two years must have passed since you took this test. Cal Poly's identifier is 4038.

IELTS
Obtain an IELTS score of at least 6.5. (International English Language Testing System). Within the previous two years, you have to take this test. Please evaluate the criteria for each graduate programme since some may have greater minimum qualifications.

Requests for TOEFL/IELTS Waivers
If an undergraduate applicant has attended an English-taught college for a minimum of three years, they may be qualified for a waiver. Additionally, transfer candidates must have earned a "B" or higher in each of the three General Education Area A courses (English Composition, Critical Thinking, and Public Speaking). Current General Education Area A courses will not be taken into account when deciding whether to waive the TOEFL or IELTS requirement.

Graduate applicants who have received an undergraduate degree from a university with regional accreditation will automatically receive a waiver of the TOEFL or IELTS.
