California State University Fullerton English Language Requirment

California State University Fullerton (CSUF) requires proof of English language proficiency for non-native English speakers who wish to enroll in undergraduate or graduate programs.

Undergraduate applicants can satisfy the English language proficiency requirement in several ways, including:

• Scoring a minimum of 61 on the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test), or a minimum of 500 on the paper-based test.
• Scoring a minimum of 5.5 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
• Earning a grade of "C" or higher in a transferable college-level English composition course taken at a regionally accredited U.S. institution.

Graduate applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by achieving a minimum score on one of the following tests:

• A minimum TOEFL score of 80 on the internet-based test (iBT), or a minimum of 550 on the paper-based test.
• A minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
• A minimum Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 58.

Alternatively, graduate applicants may satisfy the English language proficiency requirement by completing an approved English language program at a U.S. institution.
