About Colorado State University

Colorado State University, one of the best public research universities in the country, was founded in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College. CSU has delivered record enrollment over the past ten years, based on all-time highs in student success and diversity as well as enrollment. The institution was first known as Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts until changing its name to Colorado State University in 1957. If we discuss recognition at that time, CSU was ranked 54th among public colleges and 91st overall in Washington's Monthly 2018 College Guide.

Speaking of rankings, Colorado State University is ranked between #401 and #500 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023. CSU is ranked #408 in the QS World University Rankings for 2023. CSU is ranked 276th in the US by U.S. News & World Report for the academic year 2022–2023.
