In University Park, Illinois, there is a public university called Governors State University. Additionally, it may be reached about 30 minutes by car from northwest Indiana, Kankakee, and Joliet. She first gained notoriety in the comedy community in 1989 as the sole female finalist in the Miller Lite Comedy Search. Jerry Butler Jr. is another another outstanding alum. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. He is a former politician who is also an American lyricist, producer, musician, and soul artist.
