Hawaii Pacific University is commonly referred to as HPU. It is a private, nonsectarian college. It was founded by Elizabeth Kellerman and Paul C.T. Loo. Eureka Forbes and Reverend Edmond Walker. The location of the university is in Honolulu, Hawaii. There are numerous undergraduate programmes to choose from, including Arts and Markets, Biochemistry, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Social Work, and Public Health. Graduate Program courses include Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Global Leadership and Sustainable Development, Educational Leadership, Secondary Education, World Languages, Master of Social Work (MSW), Doctor of Clinical Psychology, etc. The institution was founded in 1965 and is affiliated with NAICU. John Y. Gotanda is the college's president, and there are 4,998 students.

Out of the total number of students, 4,260 are undergraduates and 738 are graduate students. Aquaculture research at Makiapu'u Point is one of the most distinctive programmes offered by the Oceanic Institute of HPU. It is also present on the island of Oahu's military installations. In addition, they offer distance learning and an online platform for their programmes. In addition, they have an extensive facility for studying abroad and an outstanding Student Exchange Program. The college's regional accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) has been reaffirmed until 2022. The Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation granted them accreditation for their B.Ed and M.Ed programmes.
