About New Jersey Institute of Technology

NJIT, also known as the New Jersey Institute of Technology, is the state's public polytechnic university. Newark Technical School was founded in 1881 and renamed NJIT in 1975. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education has granted accreditation. NJIT is the most prestigious technological institution in the New York metropolitan area. The university has more than 2 million square feet of modern facilities on a 48-acre campus in Newark, as well as a solar observatory in Big Bear Lake, California.

The university, a top-ranked public research institution, provides undergraduate and graduate students with over 125 degree programmes in STEM, architecture and design, management, and the humanities. More than sixty research institutes, centres, and specialised laboratories reflect the university's strategic growth in its research enterprise. NJIT provides students with more than $100 million in financial aid. Approximately 80% of all undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid, as do 92% of first-year and transfer students. The NJIT Makerspace provides a location on campus where students can actively participate in shaping global industries through innovation, invention, and product realisation. Each year, over 7,400 prospective students and their parents attend campus open houses and tours.

More than sixty research institutes, centres, and specialised laboratories are located at NJIT. The foundation of NJIT's research is collaboration between students, faculty, staff, and external researchers and partners. In its six colleges, the university has more than 11,400 students and more than 1,300 full-time employees. The interdisciplinary approach to education provides students with the opportunity to study subjects outside of their majors. Department structure

New Jersey has produced an excellent blend of technical education and liberal discussion with the purpose of expanding beyond the conventional subjects of study. Newark College of Engineering

The college offers high-quality engineering education and a diverse choice of disciplines in a variety of fields. Biomedical engineering, transportation engineering, and pharmaceutical engineering are among the options.

College of Science and Liberal Arts

Biological sciences, humanities, and physics, to name a few, are among the undergraduate and master's degrees, as well as teacher education programmes, provided throughout six major academic departments.

Martin Tuchman School of Management

New Jersey Institute of Technology Scholarships/Financial Aid

Scholarships, private loans, non-NJIT Academic Excellence award, and Albert Dorman Honors College Scholarship are all available to international students. Nearly 80% of undergraduates at New Jersey Institute of Technology receive financial help, grants, and scholarships, with 92 percent of first-year freshmen and transfer students receiving financial aid, grants, and scholarships.

Foreign students are eligible to apply for school loans and international scholarships even if they are not qualified for federal help. The Non-NJ Academic Excellence Award, which is based on academic achievements, provides the full tuition costs for international freshman candidates. If the candidate maintains a 3.0 GPA (equal to 83-86 percent in India) and Satisfactory Academic Progress, it can be renewed for up to 8 semesters.

  • For students who have been accepted to the Honors college, the Albert Dorman Honors College scholarship varies from 2500 USD (equal to 1,85,000 INR) to full tuition and housing charges.
  • If they have a U.S. citizen or permanent resident as a co-signer for the loan, international students are eligible for private loans from external agencies or government institutions.
