University of Arkansas English Language Requirment

The University of Arkansas (U of A) requires international applicants whose native language is not English to demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting scores from one of the following tests:

• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): A minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT), or 550 on the paper-based test (PBT) is required.
• IELTS (International English Language Testing System): A minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required.
• PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic): A minimum overall score of 53 is required.
• Duolingo English Test: A minimum score of 105 is required.

Applicants who have completed a degree from an accredited institution where the language of instruction is English may be exempt from submitting English language test scores. Additionally, the U of A may consider a waiver of the English language proficiency requirement for applicants who have studied in English for a certain number of years or who have achieved certain scores on standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT.

It is important to note that some programs or departments at U of A may have higher English language proficiency requirements, and applicants should check with their intended program or department for specific requirements.
