About University of Chicago

The Institution of Chicago, established in 1890, is a private research university in Chicago, the third most populous city in the United States. UChicago holds the distinction of having produced the most Nobel laureates of any American university, with 92. Over 52 undergraduate majors and 41 minors are available at the University of Chicago. Apart from downtown Chicago, the institution has campuses and centres in places such as Hong Kong, Beijing, Delhi, London, and Paris. UChicago has continuously been regarded among the best educational institutions not just in the United States, but also around the world. Alumni from the University of Chicago have contributed significantly to the advancement of different academic areas such as economics, law, literary criticism, and sociology.

The university's campus is spread out over 217 acres of land in an urban area. The university has a total enrollment of 16,959 students. 6,800 students are enrolled in the undergraduate programme, while 10,159 students are enrolled in the postgraduate programme. Centre for Middle Eastern Studies, Argonne National Laboratory, and the United States Department of Energy are among the university's well-known centres, laboratories, and departments.
