Virginia Commonwealth University English Language Requirment
To ensure maximum benefit from academic study at VCU, all non-native English speakers, regardless of immigration status, must demonstrate English language proficiency prior to admission and/or enrollment.
By earning a passing score on the TOEFL, a candidate can fulfil the university's English proficiency requirements. Minimum TOEFL score required by universities is 550 (paper-based) or 80 (computer-based) (Internet-based). Some graduate programmes will accept IELTS scores that demonstrate English proficiency as evidence. The minimum IELTS score required by universities is 6.5. Also accepted is the PTE with a minimum score of 65. Individual programmes may have higher score requirements. Scores on the TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE are valid for two years.
English Proficiency Test Scores
An international applicant must achieve a predetermined minimum score on the English Proficiency exam. This test is a crucial supporting document that the university requires.
