The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) is a graduate-level professional program for students interested in becoming an athletic trainer (AT).
Students are trained to provide patient-centered care in accordance with the following professional domains:
- Injury/illness prevention and wellness promotion
- Examination, assessment and diagnosis
- Immediate and emergency care
- Therapeutic intervention
- Health care administration and professional responsibility
Students who competently complete the academic program become eligible for national certification by passing the Board of Certification, Inc. examination. Upon receiving certification, they may apply for state licensure and professionally practice in accordance with their state practice act.
