About Woodbury University

Woodbury University is a private, non-profit organisation. F.C. Woodbury, a businessman and educator, founded the college in 1884. began as Woodbury's Business College to expand the burgeoning business community in Los Angeles. The college gained recognition quickly and received formal certification from the State of California. to continue with undergraduate and graduate programmes in 1926. The institution was given the title of Woodbury University in 1974 after converting to a non-profit higher education organisation in 1972.

The central facility is situated in Burbank and spans 22 acres in the centre of Los Angeles' creative district. In addition to it, the university also runs a smaller campus in San Diego's Barrio Logan neighbourhood, where both undergraduate and graduate architecture degrees are offered. The university, one of the first institutions of higher learning on the US west coast, provides its students with some of the newest facilities. By respecting living preferences, it provides students with options for on-campus accommodation. On top of that, the site has studios, educational support services, a café, computer labs, a campus library, staff offices, a fitness facility, basketball courts, and a pool.

In addition, the university maintains three schools and one college, including the College of Liberal Arts, the School of Commerce, the School of Architecture, and the School of Media, Culture & Design. These universities and colleges provide students with 20 undergraduate and 6 graduate professional and liberal arts programmes. According to data from 2018, there were approximately 1,165 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at the university, 22% of them are from abroad. Moreover, the usual class size is 15, and the student to instructor ratio is 9:1.

In addition to this, the university publishes MORIA, a national literary magazine that is administered by students. Also, students manage an online publication called 7500 Magazine, which focuses on Los Angeles's media, arts, and culture. In addition to all of this, the university still has a network of over 16,000 alumni around the world. Cleo Baldon, a landscape architect, Helen Gurley Brown, an author, publisher, and businesswoman, Richard Denning, an actor, and Lou Kimzey are some of the well-known alumni (Magazine editor and publisher).
