Florida International University is a well-known research-based public university which is known for imparting quality education to its students. It was founded in the year 1965. After the approval from Senate Bill 711, the State Board of Education in collaborations with the Board of Regents planned the foundation of this university. With a staggering number of 5,667 students, this university holds the record of the largest opening enrolment in the history of the United States. The FIU College of Law started operations in the year 2002 and the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine was opened in the year 2009. Currently, this university is functioning under the presidency of Mark B. Rosenberg. It is a member of Conference USA with 400 plus student-athletes participating in over 18 sports. It has even awarded 330,000 plus degrees to many leaders in South Florida and beyond. As per the QS World Ranking 2020, this university comes under the top 801-1000 universities around the globe.

The university has two main campuses located in Miami, Florida and several satellite campuses situated in South Florida, China and Italy. Formerly known as the University Park Campus, the Modesto Maidique Campus offers a central location to the students equipped with many research centres. It also provides convenient on-campus accommodations to the students topped up with amenities like dining halls, parking, bookstore and recreation centre. The Biscayne Campus is established in North Miami and provides housing options to the students. Other comforts offered by this campus include a library, wellness centre, conference centre and retail shops. Just a small shuttle drive away from the Modesto Campus is the Engineering Center, which has many digitally advanced labs and research facilities. The Florida International University offers education in many fields, including accounting, human resources development, architecture, arts, business and science. In the year 2018-19, a total of 58,064 students enrolled in this university. In the same year, the total undergraduates in the full-time degree programme were 12,035 males and 15,899 females. Students enrolled for the master's programme totalled to 2,626 males and 4,030 females. It provided 42 associate degrees and 3,142 master's degrees in 2018.

Florida International University International Student Admissions

Each year, Florida International University enrols about 3,000 international students. International applicants go through the same admissions process as domestic applicants. International applicants, on the other hand, must meet additional standards. They must also thoroughly examine their visa application process.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • All of your academic records and transcripts from your prior school.
    • The registrar of the institution attests to this.
    • A stamped and sealed envelope was sent immediately from the issuing institute.
