Chemical Engineers develop processes, materials and products in the pharmaceutical, specialty chemicals, energy and personal care products sectors, among others. Chemical Engineers work with phenomena at different scales: reactions at the molecular level, changes in phases at the process level, mixing and separation at the plant level, and biosynthesis at the global level. Our graduate program offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborative research.
Chemical Engineers are creative and ingenious problem solvers working on the frontiers of emerging areas, such as developing new materials and devising novel processes and products in advanced manufacturing. They have a solid chemistry and physics foundation and possess strong mathematical and analytical skills that allow them to troubleshoot and work in teams with other engineers and scientists.
