University of California Davis English Language Requirment

The International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores must be submitted at the time of application for applicants who a) did not receive a prior degree from an institution where English is the only language of instruction and/or b) are not from a country or region where English is the language of instruction (IELTS).

An overall minimum score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL test is needed for admission to UC Davis. IELTS requires a minimum score of 7.0 out of a possible 9. Scores from the TOEFL and IELTS are only good for two years after the exam date.

TOEFL results submitted by applicants must be electronically transmitted by ETS to UC Davis (Institution Code 4834). IELTS reports for applicants submitting IELTS results must be electronically delivered to UC Davis (An institution code is not required, so please send the scores to: University of California, Davis Graduate Studies). Graduate programmes should not accept photocopies or PDFs of the applicant's official English language test score reports.
