University of Southern California English Language Requirment
Success at USC in the classroom, in extracurricular activities, and in the workplace hinges on one's ability to converse in academic English with assurance and ease. As a result, as part of the admission evaluation process, all overseas applicants to USC must successfully demonstrate their English language skills.
Any overseas applicant whose mother tongue is not English should prepare to submit an English proficiency test that has been approved by USC for admission consideration. Exams accepted by USC and suggested minimums are as follows:
- TOEFL (or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition) with a minimum score of 100 and no less than a score of 20 in each section.*
- IELTS (or IELTS Indicator) score of 7.
- PTE score of 68.
- 650 on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section.
- 27 on the ACT English section.
