If you want to put your business abilities to the test and join the ranks of these innovators, considering studying entrepreneurship. The undergraduate Entrepreneurship program at the University of Utah prepares students to pursue and create business opportunities of all kinds. Students learn to follow trends, identify emerging opportunities, and pursue those possibilities through the creation of new products, services, and companies. Core entrepreneurship courses in the program include application and theory of leadership, discovery of market opportunities, creation of new business opportunities, testing and validation of business models and venture concepts, intrapreneurship, and marketing.
The Student Experience
The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute is an excellent resource for entrepreneurship students, offering skills workshops, networking events, help in launching startups, and housing options. Students can also get involved by joining a club (such as Get Seeded, a funding program for proposed business ventures), participating in a competition (the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge), or completing an internship or study abroad through the Global Entrepreneurship Program.
Career Opportunities
Students with a background in entrepreneurship are equipped with the tools to start their own business ventures and companies, such as non-profits, for-profits, and hybrid businesses. Students are also prepared to pursue careers in a number of business fields: sales and management, marketing and marketing management, financial advising and consulting, and public relations are all possible areas of employment. Consider becoming a recruiter, teacher, business analyst or advisor, or research and development specialist. For students desiring to continue their studies at the graduate level, degrees and careers in law, medicine, accounting, and business administration are all possible.
