Western New England University English Language Requirment

Although there is no on-campus English programme at Western New England University, we do grant conditional admission to those who don't fulfil our English language competency standards. You have a number of options for fulfilling our English language requirements, including taking standardised tests or enrolling in a course with a partner organisation with whom we have a partnership agreement.

UNDERGRADUATE STANDARDIZED TESTS

Undergraduate students can use any of the following standardized tests* to meet our English language requirement:

• SAT - 450 on the English Based Reading and Writing section
• ACT - Verbal score of 18
• TOEFL - 74 IBT
• IELTS - 6
• PTE Academic - 50
• STEP Eiken - Pre-1
• iTEP - 4
• Duolingo - 100 DET

*English proficiency scores are valid for three years from the date of the exam.

GRADUATE STANDARDIZED TESTS

Graduate students can use any of the following standardized tests* to meet our English language requirement:

• TOEFL - 80 IBT
• IELTS - 6.5
• PTE Academic - 56
• STEP Eiken - 1
• iTEP - 4.5
• Duolingo - 105 DET

*English proficiency scores are valid for three years from the date of the exam.
