About Youngstown State University

In Youngstown, Ohio, there is a reputable public research institution called Youngstown State institution, or YSU. It was founded in 1908, became known as Youngstown College in 1931, and applied for North Central Association accreditation in 1944. Youngstown University officially changed its name to Youngstown State University on September 1st, 1967, after becoming a public institution. The Graduate School and College of Applied Science and Technology were inaugurated by YSU the following spring. The College of Fine and Performing Arts was constructed in 1974. The Higher Learning Commission has accredited it.

Youngstown, Ohio's 145-acre Youngstown State University campus is situated in the picturesque Mahoning Valley. It has numerous offices for student affairs, computer laboratories, copying facilities, dining options, and reading and study areas. Additionally, there are a lot of conference and lecture rooms.

The university's undergraduate academic colleges are the Bitonte College of Health and Human Services, Cliffe College of Creative Arts and Communication, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and Willamson College of Business Administration. The university's graduate school is the College of Graduate Studies.

More than 115 undergraduate majors and over 30 graduate programmes are available through the university. Additionally, YSU provides PhD degrees in physical therapy and educational leadership. Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music was known as a "All-Steinway" institution. One of the oldest non-conservatory music schools in the country is this one. In addition, the Youngstown State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble gave performances in Carnegie Hall in New York City in both March 2005 and November 2015.

Programmes for student life are available at Youngstown State University. There are over 140 student organisations on campus that provide students with a stronger feeling of community and a higher degree of involvement outside of the classroom. Youngstown State Penguins sports organisations, which compete in NCAA Division 

YSUF is an independent, non-profit organisation that awards grants to YSU students in need using money from privately held funds. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid  must be completed in order to be eligible for benefits under several scholarships. Currently, 357 scholarships are awarded after this application has been submitted.
