Offered jointly with DePaul's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, the JD+MBA recognizes the growing complexity of business organizations and the increasing interaction of management and the law. The program integrates several functional areas of law and business and emphasizes the contributions each makes to the development of administrative competence.
With more than 70 years of experience in educating working professionals, the DePaul MBA program is accredited by AACSB International--the premier accreditation body for business schools--and is respected throughout Chicago, the United States and the world. Because the business world demands more cross-functional knowledge than ever, the program offers students a well-rounded curriculum of business administration with 16 concentrations in the area of their choice. The program also allows students to pursue multiple concentrations, providing them with an individualized and customized MBA experience.
Traditional MBA students must complete 60 credit hours to receive the degree. However, under the joint degree program, they are required to complete a minimum of 48-56 credit hours. The Kellstadt Graduate School of Business will accept up to 12 credit hours for work completed in the College of Law. Traditional JD students must complete 86 credit hours to graduate from the College of Law. However, under the joint degree program, a student earns the JD degree after completing a minimum of 76 credit hours. The College of Law applies up to 10 credits toward the JD degree for work completed in the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
In addition to the core requirements, specific courses are required for the various MBA concentrations. Please refer to the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business catalog for complete program requirements.
